Also known as the “lunch-time peel,” Micro Dermabrasion is a highly effective treatment designed to

  • Smooth out skins’ texture
  • Brighten dull/sallow skins
  • Decongest stressed, blemished skin
  • Increase cell turnover
  • Unclog and refine pores
  • Minimise fine lines and wrinkles by improving cellular renewal

Microdermabrasion is designed to remove the buildup of dead cells from the surface of the skin. The skins natural cell turnover rate slows dramatically as we age so often we have old, dry dead cells just waiting to be removed.

After your skin is thoroughly cleansed, a diamond abrasive hand piece combined with suction is glided over the skin in a criss-cross motion, successfully removing dead skin cells and impurities.

When the build-up has been removed from the skin, a masque is then applied to the skin, delivering intense moisture and nutrients to fresh new skin cells. People often find that their make-up sits better after a microdermabrasion treatment as there is a much smoother surface to apply cosmetics to.

After treatment it is common to have some short term after effects including slight pinkness of the skin, an prickly or itchy feel to the skin, a mild flaking or peeling effector even a slight amount of breakout may be experienced.

For best results, Micro Dermabrasion is ideal to have weekly, or for sensitive skins, fortnightly. Generally, a course of 6 treatments are highly recommended.

Aftercare for microdermabrasion includes avoiding sun exposure, exfoliation, stimulating products such as glycolic, tanning and solariums. To get the best results for your skin it’s also important to wear a spf of 30+ daily to protect the skin from uv rays.
