So what exactly are lip fillers?
Lip fillers, or more specifically dermal lip fillers are an injectable form of Hyaluronic Acid, (a naturally occurring substance in the body) that are injected in and around the lip area to even out the shape of the lips, increase volume and even reduce the appearance of fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is a compound that is capable of absorbing and retaining up to 1000x its own mass in water, which helps plump the lip area to create the perfect pout.

How safe is the procedure?
As with any optional cosmetic procedure, there is an element of risk. We have all heard horror stories when it comes to almost every cosmetic procedure. In almost every negative case the procedure was carried out either by an inexperienced or unqualified technician. What should I expect the day after having a lip injection procedure?
Whilst this can vary from client to client most people should expect some minor swelling for 12 to 48 hours post having lip fillers. This is completely normal. If swelling continues for more than 3 days, you should contact your beauty services provider to discuss any concerns you may have.
Once the swelling has subsided, you will notice that your lips are fuller and plumper. You may be able to see small red marks at the entry point of injection, but these will go away after a couple of days.
